We at Aalambana Foundation believe that Volunteering is an essential part to "take responsibility as open minded, principled citizens in a global community."

Aalambana Foundation Youth Chapter members along with the Parent Foundation members perform volunteer services every week at food banks, rescue missions, shelters and even at coordinating with orphanages abroad. They get to interact with people who have vastly different backgrounds, and learn patience and empathy as they develop a global perspective.

Engaging in community service provides students with the opportunity to become active members of their community and has a lasting, positive impact on society at large.

Hunger is an issue we are passionate about at Aalambana Foundation, and we are consciously picking organizations that cater to similar initiatives. Organizations that we have been working with:

  • OC Food Bank
  • Wound Walk OC
  • Grandma’s House of Hope
  • Orange County Rescue Mission

Seasonal Initiatives:

a. Back to School Drive (Aug 2020): Aalambana Youth worked with multiple charities across Orange County to assess the needs of children in shelters as they got ready for school in unprecedented times. We organized a “Back to school” Drive for local charities to extend help. Proud to be associated with:

  • South county outreach
  • Families Forward
  • Laura’s House

b. Leap Forward: Leap Forward is a free tutoring initiative to help and support kids in areas of STEM. We conducted our first session in August 2020 for the following

  • Java
  • Python
  • Microsoft Excel

We plan to continue this during the holidays to provide and edge to those interested in STEM topics
