Annadanam, the sacred tradition of offering food has always been a part of the spiritual tradition in many cultures. We support Orphanages/Shelters by funding them monthly through Annadanam. Our members share their special occasions like birthdays, marriage and death anniversaries by doing Annadanam at these orphanages. We try to balance our sponsorships between these orphanages to ensure that we meet our monthly commitments to them. For some of them, irrespective of the number of special occasions, we have committed monthly funds to manage their grocery needs. Whatever you donate, we will work with that to meet and balance these commitments. Any funds left over from your donation for a specific event would be used for the monthly commitments. Similarly, where there is shortage, we will fund that from the general donations received.

Netralayam: - Netralayam is an organization for visually impaired girls and women providing shelter, education and various life skills to help them find jobs in mainstream and be self sufficient and independent. Aalambana Foundation sponsors monthly groceries to support the Netralayam residents. You can indicate your choice of a specific month while donating to sponsor groceries for Netralayam.

Corrective Surgeries: There are several childhood disabilities that do not get noticed many times in early years and remain untreated, enhancing the severity and complication of the disability. In urban slums and rural areas, this impacts lives of many children whose parents could have never become aware about the remedial measures available in Medical Sciences and even if aware could not have afforded the cost of corrective surgery. A group of doctors from Nagai Narayanji Memorial Foundation (NNMF) in Nagpur, India have come together to identify, care and empower children with disabilities. In order to identify the children with disabilities, free screening camps are conducted at regular intervals in remote areas and urban slum areas. The disabled children who can be benefitted by the corrective surgery are shortlisted from the screening camps. Normally 50% -70% of the screened children require corrective surgeries. Surgical camps for the shortlisted children are conducted at ‘Children Orthopaedic Care Institute & Pravira Hospital in Nagpur. Aalambana Foundation is committed to sponsor corrective surgeries for some of these kids.
